The Villager Book Club is a roaming book club and occasional reading retreat, popping-up at intimate venues in villages, towns and cities across the UK. Events are hosted by me, Emma Galvin, with the aim of finding connection through the books we love.
🎟️ BOOK TICKETS 🎟️
You’ll be able to find out about our latest book picks and upcoming events on Instagram and Substack, and details about how to book our events will be posted there too, along with dates, times and venues.
You don’t have to come along to every event, just pick the ones you can make it to, but book early as spaces are limited by the nature of our venues. I’ll also share a bit about each event over on Substack, where you’ll be able to join in with our discussions.
Our next event will be at Chapel and Co. in Blakesley on Thursday 16 October 2025 from 8-10pm and tickets are available to book now at a cost of £10 per person, which will include drinks and nibbles.
We’ll be discussing the fantastic debut novel from Lidija Hilje, Slanting Towards the Sea, published by Daunt Books. It’s a first-person narrative, full of love, longing and regret, set across the stunning landscapes and cobbled streets of Croatia. As it’s our first in person event, there’s no pressure to read it all if you can’t. However, we’d love you to come along with a book recommendation of your own - something that means something to you.
